The He 219 Heinkel Uhu (owl) was a two seat WWII German aircraft specifically designed as a nightfighter. It was an innovative design and was the first operational design to be fitted with ejection seats as a standard feature. During the type’s first combat sortie a development aircraft downed five RAF bombers. 294 were produced.
This is Dragon’s much-maligned 1/72 scale kit, built many years ago. There are some fit issues but nothing fatal. It is a determined tail-sitter, I crammed as much weight as possible into any space I could find, including the prop spinners. It will still remain on its tail if left there.
