Messerschmitt Bf 109 F-4 of 9. / JG 3, May 1942, Zhuguyev Ukraine, pilot Eberhard von Boremski, built from the excellent Fine Molds kit.
Eberhard von Boremski scored the majority of his 104 victories as an enlisted man. His first victories were two French Potez 63 bombers on 13JUN40. The aircraft modeled carries 43 victory bars on the rudder, for which Boremski was awarded his Knight’s Cross in May 1942. The unusual camouflage was unique to JG 3, it is believed to have been the result of a factory desert scheme of RLM 78 / 79 oversprayed with additional colors at a depot. Boremski survived the war and ten additional years in Soviet prisons, but was killed in an accident in 1963.
Quite an interesting scheme on this one! 🙂 Very nice!

JG 3 had several Bf 109s in that scheme, I think it was unique to them.
