Nothing inherently wrong with the canard configuration, but keep in mind the XP-55 had 700 hp less than it was designed for due to problems with the planned P&W x-1800 engine.

Disagree- failed dead ends like this show the ‘working out’ of the processes that lead to the best fighters. Preserving this shows the developmental history.
Cool pictures though.

I like the design. It was doomed because of the failure of the planned engine and the emergence of reliable jet engines.
