Hasegawa Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 2./JG 301 in 1/72 Scale

This rather uniquely camouflaged aircraft was originally assigned to III./JG 11 but suffered damage.  After repairs it was re-assigned to 2./JG 301 and was repainted with JG 301’s Reich’s Defense fuselage band, but with the order of the colors reversed.

  1. Jeff, that’s a really lovely model! Very nice.

I’ve read that the JG 301 a/c with “flipped” tail bands were transfers from JG 11, which carried a solid yellow RVD band that was a bit narrower than the regulation 900mm. Adding the red in front avoided having to add any yellow.
