In addition to the Hucks aircraft starter truck, Hasegawa released an Isuzu Type 97 truck in a fuel tanker configuration. In all, I think there were twenty-one different versions of this truck in service. I wanted to have a couple of the cargo versions, so I converted some with a standard bed in both hardtop and canvas cab versions.

Love these little guys, I built ine in the 70s that survived and I have it refueling the very old Hase Emily (beached of course). Does wonders showing g off how big the H8 is.

I heartily agree! The fuel truck was rebuilt and repaired from the remains of one I had originally built in the 1970s. The trucks give scale to the aircraft.

How did you do the hardtop cab ?

It was built up from Evergreen sheet. The shape is pretty straightforward and it goes together quicker than you’d think.

Very nice Jeff! 🙂 I converted two with the GS body as well, but I like your hardtop cab version!

Thanks Pete, the cargo was a mini project in itself.
