The 120th Fighter Regiment was active in the defense of Moscow during the Spring of 1942. “Red 02” is a well known and often modeled MiG-3 from this Regiment but is somewhat controversial. The outer wing panels are interpreted by some as having red uppersurfaces and by others as replacement panels painted green. Likewise, the photograph shows a different light shade on the cowling which is claimed to be either light gray or natural metal.
My “Red 4” was built using decals from the spares box, with green wing panels and an aluminum cowling, inspired by photos of MiG-3s in a similar scheme.
