The CF-104 Starfighter served Canada for nearly 25 years. It saw Canadian military aviation from post-war technology through several generations of fighter development as a bridge to the present. The long period of service was not without cost. Of the original fleet of 238 aircraft 110 were lost to crashes with 37 aircrew fatalities.
